  It was pure accident, err . . . genius, that Mike suggested with our very first issue back in the summer of 2000 that he and I should each do an opinion piece to introduce ourselves to the readers. It has now become a firmly entrenched part of each issue that the readers respond to very favourably. Neither of us are writers, although we both love words (he likes to talk and I like to read) so the response is not based on the elegance of our prose. Rather, it is the sense of connection that people are able to feel with us as we talk about lives very much like their own. That is what Ossekeag Publishing is all about - community connections. It is a privilege to play a part in so many diverse households.
